Some dude told me to do a clean install lol. I personally wouldnt remove anything that says Microsoft C++ or LEnovo in front of it. Seeing as its black friday, theres great deals on 1-2 TB 970 Evo Plus drives. Im considering adding a second drive to the system but I was wondering if that also needs to be Gen 4. Nothing system breaking-but I have no reason to stay with them when I don't benefit from their improvements. Other stuff to remove might be by preference, like Nahimic, ICUe, Corsair Services, One Drive. I recently got a Legion 5 Pro with the i7 11800H and it already has a Gen 4 drive. I have tried a couple newer drivers but experienced some oddities occasionally. If you have AMD integrated-it's only used for Windows/light 3d.and in that instance I suggest 22.3.1.ĥ11.79 has been rock solid for me. The newest AMD driver might-they're working on OpenGL performance & other optimizations.īut there is no point in the AMD driver being latest on systems where AMD is only for integrated graphics. No Nvidia driver is going to come out tomorrow that will give you a 50% perf uplift. With drivers-unless you have a specific reason to update they're best left alone. Nvidias, on the other hand, while they're not bugfree they're not that bad either. AMDs GPU drivers are far FAR from perfect & running the latest usually means compromising stability. On an AMD system (integrated or dedi) I would strongly suggest NOT running anything other than a WHQL driver. Nvidias GPU drivers are far more mature than AMDs.
